Iceland, a Photographic Tour

Having left London Gatwick at an early hour, I arrived in Keflavik airport  before 9.00am and was met by  Haukur Snorrason, from Iceland Photo Tours of Look North Travel. Haukur is a photographer and he will be accompanying me on my nine day landscape photography tour of Iceland.

This is my second trip and there are pictures in my gallery  from my photo tour  last year of the Highlands and Southern Iceland. On that 6 day  trip, I was accompanied by Haukur for three days and Sigurdur Stefnisson for the second part in the south.

Once I had retrieved my luggage, we were off on the road and about an hour into our journey, I spotted this yellow house

We then drove to Hraunfossar waterfalls,

and the mini falls of Barnafos ( The Children’s Falls), named as such because there was another rock bridge which collapsed when they were playing on it.

We climbed to the top of the Grabrok crater, which has wooden steps most of the way up. On the way, I looked back and saw the next picture.

Our last stop of the afternoon was at the falls at Kolugljufur

We had dinner in our hotel on the Vatnesnes peninsula and at 9.30pm set off up the peninsula to photograph the sea stack. On the way we spotted these two white horses against a beautifully lit background.

Down a very steep trail we arrived on the shore to shoot the stack. It was 11.00pm aand the light was just beginning to fade.
